Announcing a rare opportunity for a highly motivated teacher to join our team at Northumberland Virtual School as a Lead Secondary Teacher for the EOTAS (Education other than at School) Health Needs Team .
We want to recruit an individual who is passionate about wanting to make a difference to the educational outcomes for pupils who are unable to access school due to having medical health needs and who has a specialism in either Science or Maths.
The Lead teacher will be required to provide leadership for Science / Maths teachers who work within a successful and committed team to teach children who are unable to engage in full time education at school due to their health and medical needs and deputise for the EOTAS Team Manager when necessary. Teaching is delivered in small groups or 1 to 1, face to face or virtually, in several outreach locations in Northumberland. The role involves ensuring children with medical needs who access the EOTAS service are receiving quality first teaching, making good progress and that their needs are being met. The Lead teacher will have oversight of a cohort of pupils, some with complex needs and have responsibility for monitoring progress, improving and monitoring attendance and reintegration back into a school environment when appropriate.
