Northumberland Substance and Alcohol Team (SaAT) is seeking a passionate and motivated Social Worker (Band 8) to join our dynamic team and help deliver high-quality services across the Northumberland area.


SaAT provides a holistic, integrated approach to supporting adults aged 18 and over. We work closely with partner agencies including, drug and alcohol services, mental health practitioners, health professionals, police, and social care, to ensure coordinated and effective support. The role involves:


  • Conducting joint assessments with partner agencies

  • Undertaking Care Act assessments

  • Identifying and implementing appropriate interventions
  • Responding to crisis situations
  • Supporting individuals to improve outcomes, including consideration of residential rehabilitation where appropriate
The team works alongside the Intensive Social Worker Mental Health Team, collaborating to assess risk and develop tailored interventions that support adults in the community.
