Job Information

Experienced Social Worker, Adult Social Care – Permanent, Full Time (37 hours).   

Salary Range £39,862 – £44,075 

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Social Workers with post qualification experience, or social workers who have successfully completed the ASYE Programme to join Northumberland County Council Adults, Ageing & Wellbeing Directorate. 

We have 2 opportunities available in the following teams and locations:

1. South/Central Team based in Eddie Ferguson House, Blyth 

2. North Team based in Alnwick Fire Station, Alnwick

We are seeking committed and professional Social Workers who are determined to deliver excellent services to vulnerable individuals. In this role, you will conduct comprehensive assessments and enjoy a healthy balance of autonomy and support.

You’ll manage your own caseload while receiving regular supervision and guidance from your Team Manager.

A clear understanding of the Care Act and the Local Authority’s statutory duties is essential.

Essential requirements:  

  • Degree in Social Work (or equivalent), applicants must hold a Social Work England registration.  
  • Applicants must have completed the UK Skills for Care ASYE programme
  • Due to the nature of this role, it is an essential requirement that the post holder has a valid driving licence and has access to a car they can use for work purposes
