Senior Public Health Analyst
37hpw | Fixed Term for 3 years
Hybrid working, based at County Hall, Morpeth
We are seeking a skilled Public Health Intelligence Analyst to provide high quality analytical support focused on community safety and domestic abuse. You will be part of a high performing Public Health Intelligence Team that supports evidence-based decision making across the Council and its partnerships. The team is respected, collaborative, and trusted to provide insight that genuinely influences strategy and frontline delivery.
What you’ll be doing (day to day):
- Turning complex domestic abuse and community safety data into clear, powerful insights
- Building dashboards, reports and briefings that shape commissioning,service sand policy
- Supporting the JSNA, needs assessments and performance reviews
- Working with partners across public health, community safety and safeguarding to improve outcomes
- Ensuring data is robust, ethical and securely handled, especially sensitive information
Who we’re looking for:
- An analytical problem‑solver who enjoys working with real‑world data
- Confident using statistics, BI tools, dashboards and visualisations (e.g.Power BI, GIS)
- Passionate about reducing inequalities
- A clear communicator who can explain complex findings simply and persuasively
- Organised, curious and proactive, with an eye for detail and improvement

REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB
- A degree (or equivalent experience) in statistics, epidemiology, public health, GIS or a related analytical field
- Strong experience analysing complex local authority data sets
- Applied knowledge of statistical methods and performance analysis
- Experience using BI and visualisation tools such as Power BI and/or GIS
A Master’s in Public Health or related discipline is desirable.
