ROLE OF THE JOB
To provide assistance to a team undertaking highway maintenance and construction tasks using, where required, simple powered light plant and powered hand-tools.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB
Previous Experience of manual work is essential and should include working in a Highways Maintenance or construction environment. Highways Operatives will work as part of a Team covering, minor reactive repairs (potholes, lift and relay paving) and planned construction teams. It is desirable to have working knowledge of larger construction works including; paving, kerbing, drainage, bricklaying, resurfacing. You should have a City & Guilds Craft Certificate in Roadwork, NVQ Level 2 (or working towards) or equivalent qualification or significant industry experience.
