ROLE OF THE JOB

The role of School Crossing Patrol is a valuable and rewarding role, working for usually up to an hour in the morning (8-9) and up to an hour in the afternoon (3-4) in term time only, but these hours vary slightly depending on the site.

The basic duties include the safe passage of children and adults across roads at school time and the applicant must be able to follow straightforward instructions and to work outdoors all year round.

Successful applicants will receive full training and uniform. Full training will be provided by the county road safety officer. 

REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB

  • Monday to Friday in term time, morning and afternoon split working.
  • Outside working in all weathers and traffic conditions.
  • Ability to follow straightforward oral and written instructions and to keep basic work records. 
  • Ability to work outdoors all year round. 
  • A commitment to providing a quality service to customers.
