Community Safety Officer
We are currently looking to recruit a dynamic, hardworking, and knowledgeable individual to enhance our Community Safety Team. This key role will provide an investigative and case management function as well as delivering proactive projects, community engagement and support to the Safer Northumberland Community Safety Partnership (CSP), in our drive to promote thriving communities across the County.
You will work within our busy investigative team to help ensure we are providing high quality support and deliver effective solutions to anti-social behaviour and crime and disorder. This involves direct contact with members of the public, and therefore requires a high degree of effective communication skills and an empathetic approach. You will also work in close collaboration with both internal and external partners ensuring effective and successful performance to tackle issues such as hate crime, anti-social behaviour, exploitation and safety in public spaces including effective and proportionate use of CCTV provision.
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate an understanding and have experience of investigative practices, case management and partnership working. You should be self-motivated and be able to build effective relationships with a wide range of agencies and partners and have the ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and work autonomously.
The Community Safety Team forms part of the broader Community & Environmental Health team dealing with a wide range of issues which affect our local communities. This team sits within the Public Protection Service.
· This is a full time, permanent, band 7 position (£31,099-£34,723).
· Although based at West Hartford Community Fire Station (West Hartford Business Park, NE23 3JP) agile working is strongly encouraged as are flexible working hours.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB
Experience of managing, investigating and resolving anti-social behaviour and crime and disorder issues within a local
authority or similar environment.
Experience of community engagement, problem solving, and multi-agency work would be an advantage.
Full UK Driving Licence
