Care Worker (Adult Social Care, Learning Disabilities) - The Tynedale Centre, Hexham (Day centre)

Permanent | Part time 20 hours | £13.69 - £14.59 per hour

We are looking for a dedicated Care Worker, who is committed to helping maintain a quality service. 

Our team at Tynedale centre, Hexham supports adults with learning disabilities and complex needs. Our aim is to empower vulnerable adults by building independence through engaging in educational, social, therapeutic and employment opportunities to broaden life experiences and allow service users to exercise their right to self-determination and choice. 

The centre is open Monday - Friday, 9am - 4pm.
 

You'll be working in a vibrant, supportive environment where no two days are the same. As a Care Worker you will help our service users enjoy a variety of engaging and enjoyable activities including: 

  • Swimming
  • Horse-Riding
  • Bowling
  • Music therapy
  • Gardening 
  • Sensory walks

Whether it’s exploring the outdoors or sharing a laugh during an activity, you’ll be part of moments that matter. 

 
  This role is: 

  • Permanent 
  • 20 hours (Monday – Tuesday 9am-3:30pm and Wednesday 9am-4pm)
  • NCC Band 4 salary £26,403 - £28,142 FTE (pro rata for 20 hours £14,271 - £15,211) - £13.69 - £14.59 per hour


Role of the job: 

  • To support service users with their physical, personal and emotional care, to enable and promote independence so they can reach their full potential. 
  • Preparation and serving of meals / drinks 
  • Administer medication (appropriate training will be provided) 
  • Support service users in accessing the community and arranging fun activities for them to engage with
  • Communicating with service users and colleagues report writing and sharing of information 
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure individual care plans are achieved/ reviewed 
  • Attend training, take part in appraisals, supervisions and team meetings.
