The Central Locality Team are seeking to recruit a Team Manager; under the supervision of the Children’s Services Manager to manage, coordinate and develop the work of an identified social work team.

 To provide supervision, consultation and other management tasks to comply with statutory responsibilities in line with NCC policy and procedures and ensuring that the duties necessary to comply with statutory and NCC procedures and policies are carried out. 

You will have extensive post qualifying experience of statutory social work with children and families. You will have proven ability to transfer knowledge and skills to colleagues through coaching and mentoring by establishing a professional network that promotes learning and practice development for self and others. This will include providing critical reflection and challenge in supporting the development of social workers. You are also expected to have had experience of direct line management responsibilities.

Previous direct line management responsibilities. 

You will have excellent communication skills and be able to convey complex messages in a straightforward way, both verbally and in writing. 

You will not be afraid to think creatively to solve problems. 

You will be able to make sound decisions. 

You will support a team of staff in being empathetic and sensitive to the needs of children, young people and families. 

You will support a team of staff to always want to hear the young person's voice and ensure that this is taken into account.
