If you’re an Occupational Therapist with supervisor and/or team manager experience, Northumberland County Councils Adult Social Care Occupational Therapy North team have just the job for you, as we are looking for a full-time Occupational Therapy Team Manager.
We want someone who can :
- Lead and manage the day to day needs of a busy Community Occupational Therapy team
- Triage referrals and effectively allocate to the team members or signpost to the appropriate service
- Support team with day-to-day informal support as well as regular supervision and appraisal
- Undertake quality audits of routine team member work and participate in targeted audit work as needed.
- Provide support to Senior Managers and Head of Service with strategic planning and implementation of service improvements.
The post is with the North Northumberland Adult Social Care Occupational Therapy team, the team consists of qualified Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy assistants and Technical Instructors.
This is a small but very successful team, who achieve high standards in providing Occupational Therapy for the residents of Northumberland.
As part of Northumberland Adult Social Care, we work with adults (18+) who have a functional deficit caused by physical disability, mental health or learning disability. The interventions are therefore wide ranging from standard equipment provision through to complex major adaptations and Manual Handling risk assessments.
The post holder will be based at Alnwick Fires Station, Alnwick, Northumberland, however like the team the manager will work throughout North Northumberland utilising MacDonald House, Berwick or the many agile working sites around the county.
The post is full time, permanent, and the salary is Northumberland County Council Band 11 £51174 - £54611

- A professional Occupational Therapy qualification e.g., Degree (BSc (Hons), MSc) in Occupational Therapy, Diploma in Occupational Therapy
- Valid HCPC registration
- Highly specialised knowledge and expertise in the delivery of Occupational Therapy services
- Practice Placement Qualification and experience of undertaking student placements
- Significant experience of team management including appraisal and supervision
- Extensive experience in adult social or health care, for clients with Physical disabilities, Learning disabilities and mental health diagnosis.
The post covers the North of Northumberland and holding a valid UK driving licence and having access to a car is essential.
