Location: Tynedale House, Blyth
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £50,269 – £54,495 (dependant on experience)
Working Pattern: Flexible hours, including out‑of‑hours cover

We’re seeking an exceptional and forward‑thinking leader to join Northumberland County Council as Senior Adults Direct Care Lead (Registered Manager) at Tynedale House, a residential care home proudly rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission.

About the role
As Registered Manager, you will hold overall responsibility for the quality, safety and effectiveness of the service. You’ll ensure full compliance with CQC Fundamental Standards, drive continuous improvement, and lead a skilled, dedicated workforce delivering exceptional outcomes for people who use our services.
Key responsibilities
- Act as Registered Manager, ensuring full compliance with CQC requirements and Fundamental Standards
- Develop and deliver service objectives aligned to corporate priorities and agreed budgets
- Provide visible, values‑led leadership, motivating and supporting staff to achieve excellence
- Ensure high‑quality care planning, actively promoting service user involvement and choice
- Maintain a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for service users, families and visitors
- Identify, manage and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns
- Work collaboratively with internal colleagues and external partners to deliver seamless, person‑centred care
- Oversee medication management and ensure compliance with clinical and service protocols
- Manage budgets, workforce planning, recruitment, performance management and staff development
- Deliver and support high‑quality in‑house training aligned with National Minimum Standards
- Represent the service at professional forums and contribute to wider service development initiatives
- Ensure effective service delivery outside core office hours and during emergencies
What you’ll bring
- A relevant nursing qualification (RNLD) with previous post registration experience
- Relevant management qualification e.g. Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care
- Strong working knowledge of CQC Fundamental Standards and inspection frameworks
- Recent and relevant experience in a senior management role within adult social care
- A flexible, resilient and solution‑focused approach
- Strong leadership presence with integrity, professionalism and sound ethical judgement
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to inspire, influence and drive positive change
