Job Location:  Barndale Short Break Service, Alnwick, Northumberland 
 
This role requires you to work to a shift pattern which will include night shifts. The post requires you to work 22 hours over the weekend. 
The service operates 44 weekends throughout the year. 
We therefore have 8 weekend closures per year.

Who we are: 
 
NCC operates 5 children’s homes including a national secure children centre with education. Overall, the service employs approximately 200 care staff and 30 support services staff across the 5 sites. Our homes accommodate 25 young people aged 6 - 17, our main aim is to offer an exceptional family focussed caring environment where children and young people can feel safe and thrive in order to meet their full potential.  
 
The service is inspected by Ofsted on a yearly basis.  It is crucial that everyone in our team is committed and motivated to meeting the needs of our young people and have high aspirations for each and every young person we live and work with.

The role: 
 
This role requires you to work to a shift pattern which will include night shifts. The post requires you to work 22 hours over the weekend.

We are offering: 
  • A starting Band 6 salary of £14,634 progressing up to £16,038 (18.5 hour part time figure quoted). 
  • Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme (or other pension scheme)

  • There is a further payment for Single Premium Rate for unsociable working hours including weekends. 
 
You must have a good general education and be willing and able to undertake relevant training. You will be supported to complete the Diploma Level 4 in Residential Child Care, which is a requirement of the job role.   
 
You will work under the direction of the Home Manager to ensure quality, safe and effective care of each young person.
