Safer Communities Officer
3 positions available, 2 x Full Time and 1 x 18.5hpw, Fixed Term for 12 months
ROLE OF THE JOB
- Work pro-actively within local communities to address anti-social behaviour and community safety concerns through pro-active engagement, a prevention focused approach and enforcement activity.
- Build strong partnerships with residents, local councillors, police, housing providers, and other agencies to deliver co-ordinated community safety interventions.
- Carry out patrols, investigations, and follow-up actions, gathering evidence and taking appropriate action in line with council policies and legislation.
- Provide a visible, reassuring presence within neighbourhoods and contribute to initiatives that improve public confidence and quality of life.
- Based at Co Hall, Morpeth, NE61 2EF, but must be prepared to travel throughout the county and potentially be based at any council building within Northumberland.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB
- Experience of working in a community safety, enforcement, housing, or public protection environment.
- Ability to communicate confidently with members of the public and partner agencies, including managing challenging situations.
- Good working knowledge of relevant legislation relating to anti-social behaviour, crime, or local authority enforcement.
- Full UK driving licence and ability to work flexibly on a weekly basis, including evenings and weekends where required and in line with organisational demand.
