Residential Support Worker – Permanent 37hr and 18.5hr vacancies. One 18.5 hour vacancy fixed term until February 2027
Salary: £28,598 - £31,022 (full time equivalent) Band 5 plus there is an enhancement paid between 8pm and 6am and weekends, this starts at £2,934.36 - £3,183.84 per year depending on spinal point.

Who we are:
We are a new, purpose-built NCC home who gained registration through Ofsted in September 2024. Pegsworth Meadows is a multi site Children’s Home with the family group home and a solo property in Pegswood and a solo property in Ashington.
NCC operates 5 other children’s homes including a national secure children centre with education. Overall, the service employs approximately 200 care staff and 30 support services staff across the 5 sites. Our open homes accommodate 25 young people aged 6 - 17, our main aim is to offer an exceptional family focussed caring environment where children and young people can feel safe and thrive in order to meet their full potential.
The service will be inspected by Ofsted on a yearly basis. Currently Pegsworth Meadows Children’s Homes is at the very start of it’s journey. The role:
At Pegsworth Meadows we will have up to four young people (aged between 6 and 15yrs on admission) living in the main home and then 2 young people living in the solo properties. These young people are here through no fault of their own. They have often had a troubled and traumatic start to their young lives, but through positive and constructive interventions by a skilled and committed staff team they are supported to address their emotional, social, and educational needs to enhance their life chances.
Your personal qualities and life experience will help us create an environment of reflection, challenge, personal attention and specialist help. Your talents will help young people develop the values, skills, knowledge, self-control and direction that will enable them to fulfill their potential.
This role requires you to work to a shift pattern which includes early and late shifts and will predominantly be weekend working. There is an enhancement paid between 8pm and 6am and weekends, this starts at £2,934.36 - £3,183.84 per year depending on spinal point.
You must have a good general education and be willing and able to undertake relevant training. You will be supported to complete the Diploma Level 4 in Residential Childcare, which is a requirement of the job role.
You will work under the direction of the managers to ensure quality, safe and effective care of each young person.

You will work an average of 37 hours per week, following a designated shift pattern. You will be required to work at weekends and some bank holidays. You will be required to be able to work as part of a team and on your own.
