Who we are: 

 
NCC operates 5 children’s homes including a national secure children’s home with education. Overall, the service employs approximately 200 care staff and 30 support services staff across the 5 sites. Our homes accommodate 25 young people aged 6 - 17, our main aim is to offer an exceptional family focussed caring environment where children and young people can feel safe and thrive in order to meet their full potential. 

 

The service is inspected by Ofsted on a yearly basis. It is crucial that everyone in our team is committed and motivated to meeting the needs of our young people and have high aspirations for each and every young person we live and work with.

The role: 

 

At Coanwood Children’s Home we have four young people (aged between 6 and 17yrs old) living in the home. These young people are here through no fault of their own. They have often had a troubled and traumatic start to their young lives, but through positive and constructive interventions by a skilled and committed staff team they are supported to address their emotional, social, and educational needs to enhance their life chances.

Your talents will help young people develop the values, skills, knowledge, self-control and direction that will enable them to fulfill their potential. 

 

This role requires you to work to a shift pattern which includes early and late shifts, and sleep in’s. There is an enhancement paid between 8pm and 6am and weekends, this starts at £2,934.36 - £3,183.84 per year depending on spinal point (figures based on 37 hour contract). 

 

You must have a good general education and be willing and able to undertake relevant training. You will be supported to complete the Diploma Level 3 in Residential Child Care, which is a requirement of the job role. At present we are offering full time employees the opportunity to complete the level 4 Diploma in residential child care 

 

You will work under the direction of the managers to ensure quality, safe and effective care of each young person.

You will work an average of 37 hours per week, following a designated shift pattern over 24 hours. Shifts vary between 7.5 hours (early shift), 7.75 hours (late shift). The sleep in duty is from 22:15 – 07:30. You will work two out of four weekends and some bank holidays.
