The Service
We are seeking a well organised, enthusiastic Project Manager to join the Innovation and Improvement Service in the 'BEST' Programme Team. The role is to support the delivery of various projects across Council Services in line with BEST.
About 'BEST'
We have just embarked on a change journey through 'BEST' which will support the council to deliver its three priorities of economic growth, inequalities and value for money. BEST focuses on a number of transformational changes that will deliver improvements for customers and staff, while making the council more modern, effective, efficient and fit for purpose. This work will be carried out through seven workstreams:

About the role
This is a 2.5 Year Secondment Opportunity or a 2.5-year Fixed Term Contract
The Project Manager role involves working with multiple stakeholders across many services and Council sites. This is a fast-paced position working alongside the Programme Team and Senior Project Managers where you will be responsible for the planning, coordination and updating of project management documents and tasks to keep projects on track. A key output for the work that you will do is to produce regular project highlight reports to support the management and delivery of each workstream. The role will provide support and advice to officers across the Council in developing and implementing effective projects and programmes and support managers to embrace an ethos of continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will join the Programme Team and will work closely with Senior Project Managers. All of the Team are inclusive, collaborative and supportive of each other.
Essential Requirements
You will be a well organised individual who thrives in taking an innovative approach to a range of situations.
You should have a good standard of general education, be good at planning and organising and updating documentation and keeping track of project tasks
You should have knowledge and experience of the main theory, procedures and practice relating to project management and continuous improvement
Relevant experience in a similar or comparable role
You should be fully conversant with MS Office 365
You should be a good negotiator and communicator with strong soft skills to support multiple stakeholders.
Previous experience of managing successful projects will be an advantage.
Above all, you need to be enthusiastic, pro-active and collaborative.
