Role of the Job
Northumberland County Council has around 8400 properties. In this role you will be part of a team undertaking repairs and maintenance to them which will mainly be painting but we are also looking for someone who can use a multi skilled approach to fill this role. Carrying out jobs using a multi-skilled workforce allows for jobs to be completed first time which results in a good service delivered to our customers. Carrying out patching/tiling/minor joinery and plumbing works would all be included in the role.
The successful candidate will be working in occupied properties and be undertaking works for a diverse range of customers delivering a professional service in their home.
You will also receive training and be required to treat and eradicate black mould and undertake any redecoration required.
We want to support the next generation of tradesmen & women so you may be asked to provide training and support to people undertaking an apprenticeship or work experience.

Requirements of the Job
· Level 2-3 in painting tiling and or decorating or equivalent.
· Ability to use handheld IT equipment to receive and process job sheets, work instructions and to send /receive emails.
· Ability to work at height using ladders and other access equipment.
· Flexible approach to working externally /internally occupied or unoccupied properties as required.
· Always work in a tradesman like and professional manner keeping work areas clean and tidy
· Health and safety awareness, and an understanding of COSHH and your responsibilities
· Good communication and an approachable manner
· Full UK driving licence.
