Kyloe House Secure Children's Home

Do you want a challenging and rewarding career with real opportunities to change the lives of young people in secure care? If you are dynamic, dedicated and enthusiastic then we want to hear from you.

Who we are

Kyloe House is a state-of-the-art secure environment with first class facilities. Our approach is to provide exceptional care.  Kyloe House cares for young people in secure accommodation with orders as directed by the courts, who need support and intervention in a safe and caring environment focusing on education and training in vocational skills, life skills and social skills.

Why choose us

Working at Kyloe House is not just a job, it’s one of the most rewarding career choices you will make. Our work is challenging and physical but if you have the drive and dedication, resilience and passion then you will enjoy an exciting and stable career with us.

It is important that our children are supported by adults with a range of professional and personal experiences, ensuring they have access to positive roles models who can offer a range of skills and values to support our children to achieve their best possible outcomes in life.

We encourage applications from people with experience in a similar discipline, but this is not essential as we appreciate that there are adults that hold transferrable skills and values that meet the requirements of a suitable candidate but have never had the privilege of working directly with children and young people.

We offer a comprehensive induction and shadowing process for all new staff, excellent training and development opportunities throughout your employment. Northumberland County Council acknowledge the importance of legacy planning, ensuring that our managers of the future are developed from within.

The staff centered approach is supported by the offer of regular one-to-one sessions to discuss and reflect on your work.  As part of Northumberland County Council, you also benefit from a family-friendly policy, pension contributions, leisure and culture discounts at council venues and a range of other discounts.

The Role

This role requires you to work to a night shift pattern which includes weekend shifts.

You must have a good general education and be willing and able to undertake relevant training up to Diploma Level 3 for Residential Childcare or equivalent qualification.

You will work under the direction of the team leader or shift coordinator to ensure quality, safe and effective care of each young person.
