Job Information
Announcing a rare opportunity for two enthusiastic, well-motivated teachers to join our team at Northumberland Virtual School as a Lead Secondary Teacher and a Lead Out of County Teacher, initially on a 24 month fixed term full time contract.
We want to recruit individuals who are passionate about wanting to make a difference to the educational outcomes for cared for and previously cared for children.
Both teachers will be required to provide leadership for the ESLAC (Education Support for Looked After Children) team and deputise for the Deputy Virtual School Headteacher when needed. The roles will involve ensuring cared for children are receiving quality first teaching, making good progress at school and that their needs are being met. Lead teachers will have oversight of a cohort of pupils, some with complex needs, and have responsibility for monitoring progress and improving school stability, including reducing suspensions, school moves and monitoring attendance.
We want forward thinking professionals who are committed to further developing the strategy to provide support and guidance to schools, parents and carers so that cared for children achieve their full potential. This will include advice on how to maximise the impact of Pupil Premium Plus and quality assuring the electronic Personal Education Plans (ePEPs).
