Northumberland Council is committed to improving our services for disabled children and their families. As a part of this we are in the process of developing a new Home Support Service which provides support to children, young people and their families at home with domiciliary care and support, activity based sessions in the community, enabling, as well as helping to provide more social opportunities for disabled children, through social groups held every week for all age groups, and throughout school holiday periods.
The service consists of a Team Manager, Deputy Team Manager, 2 Senior Resource Workers and 8 Resource Workers. The team base is County Hall in Morpeth where meetings are held and time is spent together. Home working is also available to team members. The service will be registered with the Care Quality Commission.
We are seeking motivated workers who are committed and enthusiastic and share our passion for improving the lives of disabled children in Northumberland. Most of the delivery of the service is outside of school hours, therefore the post will require regular morning, evening and weekend working and covering for colleagues.
