Adolescent Health and Wellbeing Worker: 

 
Want to make a difference to the lives of young people in Northumberland? An exciting opportunity has arisen within a newly developed Health Hub team within Northumberland Adolescent service.   
 
We are looking for a passionate Adolescent Health and Wellbeing Worker to support young people accessing Northumberland Adolescent Services, with a range of mental health problems and concerns.  
Based in Cramlington but working across Northumberland, you’ll have an important role in supporting young people to live fulfilling lives. You will deliver effective wellbeing interventions to help young people recover and improve their lives.  
Working as part of NAS you will provide professional support, assessment and health interventions, with a focus on improving resilience and emotional health to young people.  
This will include delivering interventions around:   
  • Low mood and anxiety 
  • Self esteem  
  • Self-Harm 
  • Mindfulness 
  • Anger 
  • Improving sleep  
  • Recognising and managing emotions   
  • Confidence building  
 
You’ll work as part of a wider multidisciplinary team to promote good mental health and recovery, as well and offering training and support to other teams within Northumberland Adolescent Services. You will also need to develop and harness referral pathways between a range of other Mental Health support services including the Crisis Team and CYPS.  
 
You’ll need:   
  • excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting and productive relationships with a range of young people.  
  • the ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team.  
  • a good understanding of mental health issues. 
  • strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to tailor them to a variety of audiences.  
  • the ability to work independently and think quickly in often challenging situations. 
  • the creativity to solve problems and tackle obstacles in new ways. 
  • effective time management skills to juggle competing demands in a busy and sometimes pressured work environment. 
 
You will require an appropriate Degree (BA or BSc) relevant to child development or health. May include - (BSc Hons) Social Work, (BSc Hons) Nursing, BSc (Honours) Healthcare and Health Science or similar.
