We have an exciting opportunity for a Chef Supervisor to join the Northumberland Communities Together team at Newbiggin Sports and Community Hub. Newbiggin Hub has a café open daily serving a cook to order menu for breakfast and lunch, as well as providing Hospitality catering and bar facilities for events.

The successful applicant will work as part of a team of 2 Supervisors to direct the work of a small team of catering assistants, apprentices and learners to provide a professional, customer orientated Catering and Bar service, providing fresh food and drinks for community hub users. It’s a hands on role, where you could be preparing and cooking food in the kitchen, making hot drinks on our traditional barista style machine or serving drinks on our bar.

Duties include food preparation and cooking, serving customers, managing service areas, use of a traditional barista style coffee machine, ordering and stock taking, cleaning duties as required, assisting with the planning and maintenance of the menu, labelling system and till system. The post holder will be required to reconcile tills as requested and carry out banking.

A working knowledge of a catering and bar environment, including HACCP, food safety and health and safety principles is essential. The Chef/supervisor will support the provision of Weddings, Special events and corporate hospitality in the community hub.
