Position: Registration Service Officer 

Location: Various Locations Across Northumberland 

Type: Temporary, Ad-Hoc Shifts

 

Northumberland County Council is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused individual to join our Registration Service team via our Staff Bank. This role is key in delivering high-quality civil registration services, including the registration of marriages and civil partnerships.

 

Key Responsibilities:

- Register marriages and civil partnerships, ensuring all legal requirements are met.

- Conduct bespoke ceremonies for couples, often in front of large audiences—strong public speaking skills are essential.

- Provide support within the back office at County Hall (Morpeth) or Alnwick Fenkle Street, particularly during peak times.

 

Requirements:

- Must be available to work throughout the week, including weekends, with the flexibility to cover shifts at short notice.

- Ability to meet the transport requirements of the role, with frequent travel across the county.

- Previous experience in a customer-facing role is desirable.

- Full, clean driving licence

 

Please Note: This is a temporary position offering ad-hoc shifts with varying work locations across Northumberland.

The Staff Bank is managed by the Temporary Staffing Team, who you can contact via temporarystaffing@northumberland.gov.uk. You will be subject to Northumberland County Council's pre-employment checking process which includes a minimum of 2 references covering the past 3 years, health clearance and proof of right to work in the UK and depending on the assignment you may be required to undertake a DBS check.
