ROLE OF THE JOB
As a Bus Community Engagement Officer, you’ll be at the heart of connecting communities across Northumberland with our public transport services. You’ll plan and lead events that bring together local residents, community groups, and stakeholders to encourage bus use, enhance satisfaction with our services, and promote responsible travel behaviour.
Regularly visiting organisations and community events, you’ll actively engage with people to highlight the benefits of public transport. You’ll gather feedback, identify barriers to bus use, and work on practical solutions to make our services more accessible and user-friendly.
You’ll also have the chance to establish Community Bus Partnerships and support a volunteer network of bus champions, all aimed at improving and advocating for better bus services. Analysing survey data and tracking changes in passenger numbers will be key as you refine our engagement programs and suggest minor but impactful service improvements.
This is an 18 month fixed-term post, funded until March 2026.
