Mowbray day Centre Assistant Manager
(Permanent Full Time)
The role:
You will assist the Service Manager in the operational management of the Mowbray Day Centre service, with responsibility for a staff team who provide daytime activities and care and support to adult with Learning Difficulties, some of whom have complex care needs and physical disabilities.
You will assist the service manager in all aspect of the operational management of the service, working closely with the two care supervisors and a team of care workers to deliver a timetable of activities and person-centered care and support to the service user who attend the Day Centre.
With the support of the manager, you will promote awareness of what the service has to offer, attract new referrals and develop individual and group person centered activities to make fullest use of the service resources and working in partnerships with other professionals and families to meet the needs, aspirations, and interests of service users.
You will be responsible for monitoring budgets to achieve financial targets, operational management, and development of the services with responsibility for the building, its grounds, use and care of equipment, the provision of meals and refreshments and the operation of centre vehicle providing transport for service users to and from home.
You will ensure the capture of data for the purpose of financial audit training, completing quarterly performance monitoring reviews and monitor and maintain the standards of care plans and record keeping in the service.
You will support staff in following the services and organisations policies and procedures, contribute to the development of the service ensuring NICE guidance and CQC care standards are met at all times.
You will work closely in partnership with other professionals and organisations to develop high-quality care practices promoting the health, wellbeing, independence, and rights of service users.
You will encourage and support service users involvements and representation in the service and support service user involvement in self-advocacy groups, consult service users on the changes and direction of the service and conduct customer satisfaction survey dealing with customer care, comments, and complaints.
This role is permanent, full time 37 hours.
NCC Band 7 salary £34,314 - £37,938.
Working hours Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 4.00pm & Fridays 8.30am to 3.30pm

Who are we looking for?
You will have a good standard of general education demonstrating numeracy and literacy with a knowledge of operational, regulatory and safety procedures in adult care services, an awareness of relevant disability issues for the service user group, be able to show a commitment to customer care and provide examples of ongoing personal development.
A degree level qualification and management training to NVQ level 4 would be desirable.
You should have recent management or supervisory experience in a comparative care setting and be able to give examples of successfully collaboration with other professional or care providers for the benefit of service users, experience of working with adults with learning difficulties, and experience of project management or service improvement initiatives and a familiarity with current IT applications and systems would be desirable.
You should have the ability to communicate, chair lead and present information in a format and style appropriate to the audience provide clear convincing and rational explanations, be able to present statical information, write and present concise and factual reports, negotiate and persuade others, remain clam under pressure and apply a methodical and cooperative approach to problem solving working in partnership with others.
You should demonstrate a high level of honesty and integrity showing respect for others creating a positive working culture which respects diversity and values the contribution from all service users, staff and other stakeholders.
