Job Information

The successful candidate will be based at Eddie Ferguson House, Blyth. They will be managed by an Admin Officer and be part of a team of admin assistants based within Adult Services.  

  • They will provide a clerical and typing service, including maintaining databases and processing information. 
  • They will undertake telephone and reception duties for multi-disciplinary teams in an environment where interruptions are commonplace and sensitivity to caller’s needs is required.  
  • To undertake general office administration tasks, including filing, photocopying, cash handling (for example petty cash) and processing financial documentation. 
  • To provide relief cover for other members of the administrative team as appropriate. This may include travelling to other sites within the locality.
  • To be responsible for maintaining and ordering as necessary stationery, office equipment, etc. 
  • Undertake any other duties and responsibilities consistent with the nature, level and grade of the post
  • You must be able to meet the physical demands of the role as well as adhering to GDPR and Data protection act. You must have the ability to work outsie normal working hours if the role requires.

Salary: Level 3 NCC £24790 - £25183 FTE (pro-rata for part time employees)

Contract Type: Fixed Term until 30 September 2025, 2 x Full-time (37 hours per week) & 1 x part-time (30 hours per week)

Essential criteria of the role:

  • OCR/RSA II Typing/Word processing or equivalent/relevant experience
  • Good standard of general education
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills as well as good communication and listening skills
  • Good organisational skills and have the ability to prioritise work, to use initiative as well as working to deadlines
  • Commitment to working as a member of a team and have a flexible approach to duties on or off normal base.
  • The ability to communicate with staff at all levels
  • Ability to work well under pressure as well as experience of working with the public would be beneficial.
