What the candidate will be doing on a day-to-day basis
The apprentice stores officer will be working alongside our stores officers located at Cowley Road Depot, Blyth. The apprentice will learn the skills that help our stores team provide logistics to our busy workstreams, undertaking construction related works whether that be repairs teams, imprest stocks on vans, or the capital delivery teams installing kitchens and heating systems in the councils 8,500 tenanted homes. This apprenticeship will receive the same levels of health and safety training as the operational trades apprentices to ensure the council is keeping its people safe in the workplace.
Background on department
This apprenticeship sits in the housing repairs and maintenance service but will work across a number of workstreams serviced by the stores team. The stores team are the essential supplier of materials to our busy teams working in the councils housing stock and this is a busy and rewarding service to work in.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is eager to learn and expand their knowledge and skills through hands-on experience.

Fixed Term for duration of apprenticeship training, plus 6 months for End Point Assessment.

Maths and English GCSE (or Equivalent) at Grade 3/D or above
