The Service 


Safe and Resilient Communities deliver a range of services that help and support residents, the team operate four communities hubs, provide social and welfare support to vulnerable households, advice and support to community organisations, encourage engagement and participation in sports and health improvement programmes and encourage volunteering.  
  
The team works collaboratively with a vast network of partners including the community and voluntary sector to provide help and support to residents. 
  
Developing communities to be safe and resilient is a key function of the service, our experience tells us that that by working with and enabling our communities to work together and do things for themselves we can build upon what’s already strong within our neighbourhoods and explore new ways of working to make the most of local assets, knowledge, skills, and resources. 
  
The Role 


This is an exciting opportunity to join the Safe and Resilient Communities team and help consolidate and build on the work already taking place to provide better support for veteran’s living in the County. 

As our Veterans Community Co-ordinator you will focus on developing community based services to address the inequalities faced by our veteran community.  
  
Do you have lived experience of the Tri Services?


Do you have a passion to support veterans/serving personnel and families?


Would you like to influence and deliver a change whilst supporting the veteran communities? 

 

Development of existing networks and support services to drive locally delivered, effective services for veterans and personnel.


Can you build relationships, instill confidence and unlock the potential that exists within communities? 

 

Do you have experience to deliver and be sensitive to embedding delivery of mental health support and suicide prevention?
  
Are you creative, motovated and focused on delivering results? 
  
If you said yes to all these questions, then this maybe the role for you and we would really like to hear from you.

This post will be fixed term for 2 years and operate across Northumberland.
