Team Manager, Adult Social Care (Permanent, full time 37 hrs per week)

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to fill the role of Team Manager in our Care and Support Team in Eddie Ferguson House, Blyth. The area the team cover is Central Northumberland. 

As a Team Manager you will oversee and get the best out of a locality team of social workers and care managers. The team will be linked closely to primary care and the core element of the role is to lead on providing excellent support to social care clients within your area.  You will be part of a larger Care and Support service covering the whole of Northumberland with strong management and peer support in the role. 

The job encompasses motivating the team to high levels of performance, managing staff workload and the workflows effectively, supervision and appraisal of team members, and key other areas of work including safeguarding adults and assisting with service development where necessary. 

Training and personal development opportunities will be available. 

You will also be responsible for managing a delegated health and social care budget for the locality. 
  
Essential Criteria 
  • Relevant degree or professional qualification in social work 
  • Significant post qualifying experience including experience at a senior level 
  • Documented evidence of continuing professional development 
  • The ability to motivate and drive excellent performance from a team 
  • The ability to build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues from partner agencies is a key skill for achieving success in this role. 
  • Must be able to meet the transport requirements of the role.
