Children’s Services – Northumberland County Council

Are you passionate about supporting families to make positive, lasting change? Join our Stronger Together Team and help children, young people and families across Northumberland thrive.

Our established team works with families where children and young people are at risk of becoming cared for as well as supporting children and young people to be reunited back with their families where it is safe to do so. The Team helps young people and families find solutions, build sustainable and meaningful relationships, and reduce the risk of harm so they can stay safely in their families and community.

We provide intensive, relationship-based support that helps families and carers strengthen connections, overcome challenges and create safer, more stable homes.
As a Stronger Together Worker, you will:
  • Work intensively with families and carers to achieve agreed goals.
  • Develop and deliver family work plans in partnership with families.
  • Visit families at least twice weekly, including early mornings, evenings and occasional weekends (on rota basis)
  • Contribute to court work and safeguarding processes.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships and promote family-led change.
We’re looking for creative and compassionate individuals with experience supporting families, an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, and a good understanding of safeguarding. You’ll need flexibility, resilience, and a full driving licence.

In return, we offer full training, supportive supervision, and the opportunity to make a lasting difference within our ‘Outstanding’ Children’s Services team.
