Strategic Community Safety Partnership Assistant
We are currently looking to recruit an experienced, committed, and motivated individual to our Strategic Community Safety Team in the role of Strategic Community Safety Partnership Assistant.
This key position will provide high quality and confidential administrative and secretarial support to the Safer Northumberland Partnership (SNP), a statutory multi-agency body made from a range of agencies responsible for reducing crime and the fear of crime, community cohesion and protective measures, anti-social behaviour, serious violence, exploitation, and abuse.
The post holder will act as a key link and central point of contact for providing information, administration, and support as necessary across several boards, panels, meetings and processes supporting statutory processes such as the SNP Strategic Board, Northumberland Contest Board, Channel Panel, Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Case Reviews and Domestic Homicide Reviews (DHR’s). This is an indicative list and other business areas, and support functions may form part of the role responsibilities and portfolio.
To be successful, you will need to have good general education demonstrating numeracy and literacy, NVQ 3 Business Administration or an equivalent portfolio of experience and experience in a support/secretarial role, arranging, administrating, and coordinating meetings, diary management and coordination and management of document and electronic filing.
You will be confident with excellent organisational, verbal, and written communication skills. Being able to resolve problems and work on your own initiative you will be proactive and achievement oriented. The ability to plan and prioritise work, set and work to deadlines, when remaining calm and polite under pressure, with an eye for attention to detail are important skills and competencies sought. Political awareness and sensitivity and always maintaining strict confidentiality with excellent interpersonal skills are similarly important. Use of Microsoft tools and resources, specifically MS Word, Teams, SharePoint, and Excel are essential.
The Strategic Community Safety Team sits within the Directorate of Public Health, Inequalities and Stronger Communities.
- This is a full time permanent, Band 5 position (£26,421 - £28,770).
- Based at County Hall Morpeth, the role will require a flexible approach, with limited elements of travel. Some hybrid and home working will also be possible.
