The role:
We are looking for an experienced Strategic Category Manager for an initial 12 month fixed term contract (£47,420 - £51,515 per annum) to help embed a new category management approach and support the creation of a contract and supplier management centre of excellence and so the post holder will be aligned to the best fit category, based on their experience.
Corporate Commissioning and Procurement is a strategic enabling service that supports sustainable and cost-effective commissioning and procurement to help drive economic benefits and service quality for Northumberland County Council. The Contracting team is well-established and has positive relationships across the Council.
This is a hybrid working role with a mix of office (based in County Hall) and home-working. The team has a commitment to work-life balance and Senior Managers who understand the importance of flexibility.
The post-holder will be responsible for the delivery of a defined number of procurement projects within the relevant category but we will also draw on their expertise to develop our new ways of working. We have an excellent record of developing our staff with varied experience and therefore applicants from other sectors are also welcomed.
