ROLE OF THE JOB

Your role is to provide Stock Condition Surveys including HHSRS Surveys in accordance with the Councils requirements and computer software packages designed for this purpose. It will include surveys to support all areas of the Housing Service, ensuring that homes are maintained to an agreed standard and defects are investigated and rectified. You will carry out a rolling programme of Stock Condition Surveys to identify priorities linked to an overall Asset Strategy for the Council’s housing portfolio. Working within a multi-disciplinary team, you will provide support and technical guidance during minor and major improvement projects.

 You will have a minimum of a Level 4 qualification in Building Surveying or a suitable equivalent construction related subject and have in-depth knowledge of building construction and common building defects within a social housing setting. An awareness of HHSRS (Housing Health and Safety Rating System) Category 1 hazards is essential, however the council will provide support to knowledgeable and focused individuals and can support the achievement of the practitioner qualification if not already obtained.

This post involves daily site visits carrying surveying equipment, therefore you must be able to meet the transport and physical requirements for this demanding role.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB

  •  Minimum of a Level 4 qualification in Building Surveying or suitable equivalent construction related subject.
  • Significant experience in a related technical surveying role.
  • Ability to travel to several sites each day and carry out surveys as an ongoing process.
  • Able to meet transport requirements of the post. Must have own vehicle.
