Site and Information Assistant (Staff Bank)

Job Information

Northumberland County Council’s Staff Bank provides a pool of highly skilled temporary workers who are looking for a long-term placement, or who want to work flexibly within the council. If a team needs support due to sickness, common staff shortages, or general vacancies, they call upon registered bank members to fill available assignments. These can be filled via a long-term assignment for up to 12 months or on an ad hoc basis.

Please note, this is to join the Staff Bank pool so if a need for the following role does arise, we will refer to anyone who has applied.

The role:
We are looking for a Site & Information Assistant to join our team at Bolam Lake Country Park

Duties to include-
General grounds maintenance, general repair work, installation of new features, habitat restoration and conservation work, working on park events, health and safety checks, helping with park user queries, waste management, keeping the park clean & safe, leading volunteer groups and any other tasks as required. 

You will be working as part of a team and on your own.

Requirements:
Must be reasonably fit and healthy and be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions. 

No experience needed, however previous Countryside, Parks & Green space, Environmental Conservation and Grounds maintenance work preferred, training can be provided. 

Driving essential.

Further information:
Variable hours with weekends and bank holidays available. 

Pay is £11.79 per hour, higher rate given for weekends / bank holidays.

The Staff Bank is managed by the Temporary Staffing Team, who you can contact via 
temporarystaffing@northumberland.gov.uk. You will be subject to Northumberland County Council's pre-employment checking process which includes a minimum of 2 references covering the past 3 years, health clearance and proof of right to work in the UK and depending on the assignment you may be required to undertake a DBS check.
