ROLE OF THE JOB
Are you passionate about shaping economic growth and making a real impact in Northumberland? As a Senior Economic Development Officer, you’ll lead innovative employment and skills initiatives, translating strategic policies into high-impact projects. You’ll work with key partners and stakeholders to drive employability, inclusion, and economic regeneration across the region.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
✔️ Leading and implementing employment and skills initiatives in line with the Northumberland Economic Strategy
✔️ Managing a team to deliver impactful projects that support employability and inclusion
✔️ Building strategic partnerships across local, regional, and national levels to attract funding and investment which will deliver impact
✔️ Advising senior stakeholders and contributing to policy development that shapes the future of Northumberland’s economy

REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:
Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field with experience in economic development, employability, or skills sectors
Strong leadership and project management experience
Proven ability to develop strategic partnerships and secure funding
A valid UK driving licence (due to travel requirements)
