Senior Early Years Worker (Hadston) - Band 4 (fixed term, full time [37 hours per week])

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Cubs & Kits Daycare Nursery and Pre-School for a Senior Early Years Worker (fixed-term) based in Hadston Family Hub. Initially this is fixed-term to 31.03.2025.
This unique post will give you the experience to be influential in the development and running of our ‘Cubs and Kits’ 2-year-old Early Education provision, which runs every morning during term time.  However, this post also provides the opportunity for you to work alongside our Family Hub Practitioners and Family Help Workers; being involved in the planning, coordination and delivery of our Family Help and Family Hub universal, prevention and intervention groups and training for families living in our North Family Hub Locality.  
We are looking for someone who has good communication skills, is self-motivated, reliable and enjoys working as part of a busy team. You will have had experience of working within an Early Years setting, hold a minimum level 3 or above childcare qualification, have a sound understanding of child development and the needs of young children along with a good working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and Practice. You will also be competent completing children’s assessments and working and communicating with families and partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes for children and families. You will have extensive knowledge of working with children with SEND and the procedures to follow along with the experience of completing essential applications/paperwork, to ensure support for these children is in place.
As the Senior Early Years Worker, you will lead a team of three Early Years Workers who provide early education, creches and co-facilitate universal groups and activities.
North Locality Family Hubs are part of the Northumberland County Council Family Hub provision, and we deliver services across a wide rural area, stretching from Ulgham, just north of Morpeth up to the borders with Scotland and across to west of Rothbury. Therefore, it is necessary, in order to fulfil the role, that you hold a full driving licence and have a vehicle for use at work.
