Senior Community Safety Officer
We are currently looking to recruit a dynamic, hardworking and knowledgeable individual to lead and manage our Community Safety Team. This key role will provide day to day operational management of a six-person Community Safety Team, as well as contributing towards service development and strategic direction.
Key duties include
· HR management and staff development
· Case allocation and supervision.
· Representing the service at appropriate internal and external meetings and events
· Management and co-ordination of key multi-agency meetings
· Provision of the PREVENT co-ordinator role.
· Management and co-ordination of legal and enforcement activities including PSPOs
· Operational delivery of key priorities and initiatives.
The Community Safety Team forms part of the broader Community & Environmental Health team dealing with a wide range of issues which affect our local communities. This team sits within the Public Protection Service.
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate a high degree of technical and legal knowledge of Community Safety, broad experience of staff management and development, and a highly developed problem solving and multi-agency-based approach. Applicants should be highly motivated, able to work autonomously and collaboratively, provide effective leadership and be able to motivate others
This is a full time, permanent, band 9 position (£40,478-£44,539).
Although based at West Hartford Community Fire Station (West Hartford Business Park, NE23 3JP) agile working is strongly encouraged as is flexible working hours.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB
· Degree or relevant professional/vocational qualification
· Extensive experience of Community Safety in a local government or similar environment
· Full driving license ·
Thorough understanding of crime and disorder legislative requirements and the policy framework within which CSPs operate.
