About the Role
As a NEAT Team Operative/Driver, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining clean, safe, and attractive streets, open spaces, and public facilities in our communities. This is a hands-on, outdoor role that requires physical fitness, teamwork, and a positive, can-do attitude.
Key Details:
- Start Time: Varies by assignment
- Working Days: Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend or emergency shifts
- Pay Rate:
- Drivers Licence - £12.84 per hour
- None Driver - £12.45 per hour
- Locations: Opportunities may arise countywide, including Hexham, Blyth, Morpeth, Alnwick, Stakeford, and Berwick
What You’ll Do:
- Carry out street cleansing, grounds maintenance, and public convenience cleaning tasks.
- Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles safely and responsibly.
- Work both independently and as part of a team to meet service standards.
- Assist with risk assessments and follow safety protocols at all times.
- Communicate courteously with members of the public and colleagues.
- Report issues, faults, or hazards to your Team Leader.
What We’re Looking For:
- Full UK Driving Licence (Category B)
- Experience in grounds maintenance, cleansing, or similar outdoor work is desirable.
- Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and safety guidance.
- Physical fitness – able to walk, lift, and perform manual tasks in all weather conditions.
- A reliable and flexible approach to work.
- A commitment to public service, teamwork, and health & safety standards.
