This is an exciting opportunity for experienced and motivated Social Workers to join our Adult Safeguarding Team as a Safeguarding Manager.

We currently have the following opportunity available:
· 1 x Permanent position
· Full-time (37 hours per week)
· Based at County Hall, Morpeth, with hybrid working available
· Salary starts at £51,928 rising to £56,293.
About the role

As a Safeguarding Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing and coordinating safeguarding activity across the service. You will work within a multi-agency environment, collaborating closely with partners including Northumbria Police, Health services, CNTW, Children’s Services and other agencies to ensure effective safeguarding responses.

· Be at the forefront of safeguarding decision-making, applying thresholds and overseeing referrals within a 24-hour timeframe
· Work within a fully integrated, multi-agency environment including MASH
· Influence safeguarding practice across the wider organisation
· Support and guide Social Workers, ensuring high-quality and consistent practice
· Chair safeguarding meetings and contribute to complex multi-agency planning
What we are looking for:
We are looking for experienced, enthusiastic and resilient Social Workers who are confident in making decisions and delivering high-quality safeguarding practice.
In this role, you will:
· Oversee daily safeguarding referrals, applying appropriate thresholds
· Assess and analyse risk, implementing effective safeguarding and safety planning
· Ensure a Making Safeguarding Personal approach is embedded in all practice
· Support and provide guidance to Social Workers within the team
· Oversee Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) activity and partnership working
· Identify and escalate immediate risks of harm where necessary
· Chair safeguarding meetings and contribute to multi-agency forums such as MARAC and MAPPA
· Undertake report writing and maintain accurate records using NCC systems
· Contribute to organisational safeguarding and service development
· Support the Team Manager in the day-to-day running of the team
For this position you must have the following:
· Degree in Social Work (or equivalent professional qualification such as DipSW, CQSW, CSS)
· Registration with Social Work England
· Significant post-qualification Social Work experience, including safeguarding
