Northumberland County Council's Adult Safeguarding Team have an exciting opportunity for 2 x Safeguarding Managers to work within the Safeguarding Adults Team.   


We are looking for experienced, enthusiastic and committed social workers who are resilient and confident to deliver an excellent service within Northumberland.  


The team consists of Social Workers, Safeguarding Managers and Team Managers who work closely with our partner agencies to ensure the safeguarding of Adults at Risk in Northumberland working closely with Northumbria Police, Children’s Services, Health, CNTW and a number of other partner agencies.  

 

You will be based at County Hall, Morpeth integrated with our partner agencies, however the opportunity for hybrid working is available. 

We have 1x permanent position and 1 x fixed term (12 months) position available. Both are full-time (37 hours per week) and have starting salaries of £48,710 increasing to £52,805.

The Role: 

  • To oversee daily safeguarding referrals applying safeguarding thresholds within a 24 hour period
  • To assess and analyse risk along with identifying and implementing safety planning
  • Liaise with clients ensuring making safeguarding personal is applied 
  • Support Social Workers within the team providing guidance and direction 
  • Oversea the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) assessments and liaise with our partner agencies 
  • Identify immediate risk of harm and raise this with your line manager 
  • Chair Safeguarding Meetings 
  • Record data using NCC systems 
  • Support with Organisational Safeguarding
  • Report writing 
  • Attend meetings such as MARAC/MAPPA and reviews 
  • Support the Team Manager in the day to day running of the team 

 

For this position is it essential that you have a Professional Social Work qualification eg. Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW, CSS.

You must also hold a valid Social Work England Registration
