ROLE OF THE JOB
You will play a key role in a team that delivers effective technical and professional support services, working alongside operational managers to continually improve services, ensuring they are delivered as efficiently as possible and provide excellent value for money.
Your first priority will be undertaking a review of our operational waste and recycling collection services, including the development of routes and rounds for new recycling services that will benefit all residents and help us meet the new requirements in the government’s Environment Bill.
The role will be rewarding and varied and integral to our objective of continually improving all our operational Neighbourhood Services. You will provide technical services, data insight and analysis, and route optimisation expertise to colleagues delivering a range of key customer facing services including waste & recycling, street cleansing, grounds maintenance and countryside services.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB
You’ll be committed to continual improvement and playing a key role in helping us ensure services are efficient, effective and provide excellent value for money.
You will have a keen eye for detail and be well practiced in monitoring and reporting on the performance of operational routes, schedules and teams, you will also be able to identify opportunities for improvement and be prepared to constructively challenge the status quo.
You will have excellent analytical skills and be proficient in communicating complex, technical information in ways which can be easily understood by management, project teams and operational staff.
You will have an excellent working knowledge of route optimisation software (e.g. ROUTESMART) and a good understanding of other tools and systems that can support the improvement of operational Neighbourhood Services (e.g. GIS, performance/project management tools etc.)
