ROLE OF THE JOB

Property Management Assistant – Statutory Maintenance (2 days per week)

We are seeking a Property Management Assistant to provide administrative support to the Council’s Statutory Maintenance Team on a part-time basis (2 days per week). The role supports Technical Statutory Maintenance Officers in the delivery and monitoring of statutory compliance across the Council’s property portfolio.

Duties include maintaining compliance records, processing certification and statutory documentation, updating corporate systems, coordinating correspondence, and maintaining service level agreement documents. The postholder will support reporting and help ensure statutory maintenance obligations are met in line with legislative and Council requirements.

The ideal candidate will have strong administrative experience, good attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a small team. The role requires good organisational skills, the ability to prioritise workloads, and confidence in using standard Microsoft systems. Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential.

This role operates on a hybrid working basis; however, there will be a requirement to work from a central office location, particularly during the initial training period and at times of increased service demand. Flexibility to attend the office as required is essential.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB

  • A good standard of education, including GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths
  • Proven experience in an administrative or office-based role, ideally within property, maintenance, or a local authority environment
  • Strong IT skills, including confidence in using Microsoft Office applications and corporate record-keeping systems
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with officers, contractors, and external stakeholders
