Northumberland County Council is seeking to recruit to the post of Prison Library Assistant to join our dedicated team providing a library service within HMP Northumberland.
We are looking for people with have a knowledge & enthusiasm for reading & books. Good IT skills are essential & a knowledge of library management systems and of library procedures are desirable.
Strong communication skills & an ability to work in a team as well as lone working are essential.
The work is physically demanding, involve moving stock outside & walking between sites and there is a need to be flexible and open to changes.
You will be working in a challenging but rewarding environment & supporting the Prison Librarian to deliver a respected & valued service supporting learning & skills & the rehabilitation agenda within the prison community.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB
· You will need to prove your right to work in the UK to NCC before you start working for us.
