ROLE OF THE JOB
Our team consists of all trades including Bricklayers, Plasterer's, Joiner's, Plumber's, Painter, Labourer's and Cleaner's. We have two Chargehands monitoring the trades works daily and two Team leaders. We also have a Scheduler who is responsible for arranging all the works for the diaries and making sure the trades are where they should be.
You will be expected to complete all round plumbing duties to include gas servicing & CP12, Full and partial bathroom fits and repairs and kitchen plumbing works.
Working mainly unsupervised, however assistance from other team members is always available i.e. heavy lifting.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB
- Must have at least 5 years’ experience in all aspects of plumbing gained from a variety of areas, especially the private sector
- Good organisational, problem solving and planning skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to mentor and supervise trainees and apprentices, including attending meetings and writing progress reports to support their development.
- Working in a range of positions, sometimes in confined spaces with the need to carry tool, equipment and materials.
- Handling chemicals, sealants, pastes and glues and works with gas, water and electric supply
- Regular contact with tenants working in their homes may result in some emotional demands
- Some exposure to disagreeable and unpleasant conditions
- Willingness to support the need to provide an out of hours / emergency service and attend appointments outside of normal working hours on occasion.
