Job Information

Working in the Housing Repairs and Maintenance Team, your role is to undertake Internal and External plumbing and gas appliances repairs to the Council's stock, public buildings and other premises. 

You will also be required to carry out multi-skilled tasks to provide our customers with an excellent and efficient service.

You will be responsible for ensuring you have adequate stores, materials and equipment to undertake the necessary repairs and ensure that all work is completed on time and to a high standard. 

You will assess whether any appliances represent a danger to the occupant and give advice to the occupant concerning the notice and the use of the appliance. 

You will ensure that a high level of customer care is adopted when undertaking any repair or construction work. 

We are looking for a self-motivated individual who can work unsupervised and is prepared to be part of our call out team who carries out emergency repairs when

needed. 

The successful candidates starting location of work will be Blyth based but will involve travelling to various locations throughout Northumberland therefore you must meet the transport requirements.

· Standby duty for emergency repairs (rotational basis)

REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB 

· City & Guilds Level 3 Plumbing (or equivalent)

· Must hold a gas safety certificate

· A clean, valid UK driving license

· Good knowledge of the Health & Safety requirements associated with the trade

· Excellent understanding of administration needs in a customer service environment.

· Working knowledge of repairs processes, procedures, and policies within a Housing environment.

· You will need to prove your right to work in the UK to NCC before you start working for us.

· Valid UK driving license.
