Job Description:
Northumberland County Council is looking for skilled Painters to join our Staff Bank for flexible, temporary roles that suit your needs across several locations (Blyth, Cramlington, Seaton Delaval to name a few). As a Painter, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the appearance of our housing stock, public buildings, and other premises.
Responsibilities:
- Perform internal and external painting and decoration work to the highest standards.
- Prepare surfaces, use fillers and compounds, and apply paints, wallpapers, and other finishes.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and best practices.
- Provide exceptional customer care, protecting tenant furnishings and cleaning up work areas.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a painter would be advantageous.
- Flexibility to work evening appointments as needed.
- Strong knowledge of paints, cleaning solutions, and relevant materials.
- Must have a clean, valid driving licence.

Northumberland County Council’s Staff Bank provides a pool of highly skilled temporary workers who are looking for a long-term placement, or who want to work flexibly within the council. If a team needs support due to sickness, common staff shortages, or general vacancies, they call upon registered bank members to fill available assignments. These can be filled via a long-term assignment for up to 12 months or on an ad hoc basis.

The Staff Bank is managed by the Temporary Staffing Team, who you can contact via temporarystaffing@northumberland.gov.uk.
