ROLE OF THE JOB
You will be responsible for management of a large team of 105 staff including Senior Team Leaders, Team Leaders and Technical Officers and through them, the operational front-line staff in a designated area. You will be accountable for the effective performance and delivery of the following functions: Kerbside refuse and recycling collections, street cleaning, gully cleansing, grounds maintenance, public toilets, crematoria/cemeteries and Churchyards.

Manage a team of administrative staff to provide back-office support to Place in a designated area. Provide effective leadership, co-ordination and management of Neighbourhood Services and support staff. Lead responsibility for the management and safety of an operational depot. Make a positive and effective contribution to the corporate management of the authority, group, department and service.

We are looking for an experienced operational manager, preferably with specific experience in managing a diverse range of services in a local government setting. You must be able to work in a busy and dynamic environment, managing and prioritising your own workload. You must have extensive budget management experience and be an excellent communicator as you will represent the council in various settings including public meetings.
