Level 1 Sports Coach - Druridge Bay Fitness Centre
Northumberland County Council’s Staff Bank provides a pool of highly skilled temporary workers who are looking for a long-term placement, or who want to work flexibly within the council. If a team needs support due to sickness, common staff shortages, or general vacancies, they call upon registered bank members to fill available assignments. These can be filled via a long-term assignment for up to 12 months or on an ad hoc basis.
- Opening up / Locking up
- Keeping the building safe and clean for customers
- Provide excellent customer service and care - interact, assist and motivate customers
- Promote memberships and deal with customer enquiries
- Knowledge and use of the Gladstone Management/Booking System (training will be provided on site)
- Team size: 2 x Duty Managers plus casual cover provided by Level 1 Sports Coach
- The Fitness Centre Team are based in the Fitness Centre located within Druridge Bay Community Centre
- The Fitness Centre staff sit under NCC Community Services (Head of Service, Karen Lounton) within the Public Health, Inequalities and Stronger Communities Directorate
- Self motived, trustworthy and capable of working independently as well as part of a team
- Motivate and support physical activity in the community
- Good listener
- Willing to work flexibly as hours may vary

- Opening hours:
- Monday-Thursday 8am-9pm
- Friday 8am-7pm
- Saturday and Sunday 8am-12pm
- Level 1 Coach - relevant National Governing Body (NGB) in a sports related qualification (or equivalent)
- First Aid at Work
- Safeguarding qualification within 3 years
An enhanced DBS Disclosure will be required for this post. Candidates already signed up to the DBS Update Service would be desirable.

You will be subject to Northumberland County Council's pre-employment checking process which includes a minimum of 2 references covering the past 3 years, health clearance and proof of right to work in the UK and depending on the assignment you may be required to undertake a DBS check.
