Position: Joint Equipment Loan Service (JELS) Technician (Warehouse Operative / Driver)

Contract: Permanent, full time (37 hours) 

Salary: Band 4 £24,294 - £25,979

Workplace: Nelson Park Industrial Estate, Cramlington

About the Job:
We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our busy team, at the Joint Equipment Loan Services (JELS) in Northumberland.  

The main purpose of the role is to ensure the efficient and effective management of rehabilitation equipment within the Joint Equipment Loan Service (JELS) in the community. 

This involves tasks such as loading heavy equipment onto vans, delivering them to various residential homes and hospitals, and making sure the equipment is cleaned and in working order.

 Job Duties:

  • Transport medical equipment to and from clients' homes, residential homes, and hospitals as needed (work van provided)
  • Collect equipment from homes, hospitals.
  • Once equipment is back in the warehouse, make sure it is in working order and clean.
  • Follow procedures for dismantling, delivering, and installing bulky equipment.
  • Ensure adherence to Health & Safety and Infection Control policies.
  • Provide routine information, liaising internally and externally.
  • Report any faults with equipment.
  • Plan and manage day-to-day workload efficiently.
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels of spare parts and consumables.
  • Input stock control data into manual and computer systems.
     

Experience/Skills Needed:

  • Must have a valid, clean driving licence.
  • Physical capability for lifting, moving, and handling equipment.
  • Previous delivery experience (desirable).
  • Ability to interpret manuals for assembly and operation of complex equipment.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work around and with sensitively with vulnerable individuals and maintain confidentiality.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and in varied conditions.
