ROLE OF THE JOB
This is an exciting time to join a newly developed and forward‑thinking team, which now includes the new Housing Facilities and Compliance Assistant roles designed to strengthen and enhance the overall service we provide.
As a Caretaker, you will work closely and collaboratively with the Estates Team and the newly appointed Facilities and Compliance Assistants to create a fully joined‑up approach to building safety, presentation, and maintenance. Your role will be an important part of ensuring our 8,500 tenanted homes are well maintained, helping customers to sustain their tenancies, and supporting a coordinated service that works collectively to achieve the highest standards.
You will be responsible for maintaining the internal and external communal areas of the blocks to a tidy, safe, and hygienic standard, in accordance with Northumberland County Council’s Service Standards, Cleaning Specifications, and the Fire Safety Regulations 2022.
A key part of the role will be working closely with Facilities and Compliance Assistants to plan and carry out regular inspections of communal areas and developing a continuous action plan to ensure the blocks remain safe, well-maintained, and attractive places to live.
This is a full-time, permanent position based at Eddie Ferguson House, Blyth, Northumberland, NE24 3AG, with a salary of £26,403 to £28,142 per annum.
